Your mission As our new Localisation Manager at Too Good To Go, your mission will be to ensure that all Too Good To Go users – consumers and partners alike – have an equally good and consistent experience, regardless of which of our 19 supported languages they use our products in. Your responsibilities You will be involved in reviewing and creating our product source copy (our source language is English U.K.) in order to ensure high quality, linguistic accuracy, consistent terminology use and tone of voice in our source texts as well as their translatability You will be driving our translation processes from end to end for one of our domains (consumer or partner) using our TMS (Crowdin), working closely with our current Localisation Manager, the relevant Product Teams ( typically consisting of Product Managers, Product Designers and Software Engineer) and our in-house translators, reviewers as well as external LSPs You will be in charge of providing all the necessary contextual information and guidelines to our internal and external translators, e.g. by uploading screenshots, adding additional context information and any character limits directly in our TMS, and compiling concise task descriptions before sending tasks out for translation You will be in charge of monitoring the translations’ progress, following up with the individual translators, and reviewing all our translations to ensure their high quality and consistency, using tools like translation memory, glossaries, machine translation, and the built-in QA checks in our TMS You will be in charge of onboarding new translation resources, introducing them to our TMS, our translation processes, and any translation guidelines specific to their languages You will be in charge of creating and maintaining our domain-specific glossaries in all languages and ensuring that our key terminology always gets translated correctly Job Requirements A university degree in linguistics, translation and/or interpreting, or similar is advantageous. Established professional experience with localisation project management for digital products Excellent English language skills – both in writing and speaking – with acute attention to grammar, linguistic accuracy, correct spelling, and punctuation Thorough knowledge of at least two other languages and an understanding of how different languages’ grammar (e.g. different word order, pluralisation rules, etc.) impacts the way source strings in English should be formatted in order to allow for proper localisation Thorough understanding of and experience working with translation management tools – experience with Crowdin is an advantage A natural flair to juggle multiple tasks and projects that are in different stages at the same time and to work in a highly structured and organised manner. Detail-orientated, who is able to spot issues and inconsistencies even in languages you’re not proficient in. A high-level communicator who clearly and proactively spars with Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, and translators/LSPs alike in order to provide the right information to the right people at the right time for the localisation tasks to be completed successfully and on time Ability to help build robust and effective localisation processes geared for continuous localisation and improve and adjust the existing processes as needed in collaboration with all the stakeholders involved Our values We win together: Food waste is a big beast to fight.
