Our technical writers' team produces high-quality, detailed, and understandable user guides, API documentation, UI text, sample code, videos, best practices, and other educational material for BigID’s products. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience. As a team lead, you will ensure the implementation of best practices and oversee the quality of your team's work. As an author, you will create and maintain accurate and well-structured user documentation that fosters greater end-user autonomy with BigID's products and solutions. Our ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on product and code documentation experience and is able to manage people and projects. Location Hybrid role – working at least 3 days a week from our offices near LaGuardia (Tel-Aviv). What you’ll do: As the Technical Writer Team Leader, you'll lead a talented team of experienced writers to create clear and concise documentation to support the users of BigID’s products and solutions. Shape our Technical Writers team and its roadmap Mentor junior team members on all TW topics Build work methodology, processes, and improved tools that will lead us to success Serve as point of contact and subject matter expert for all documentation requirements Document technical processes in a way that enables non-technical users to follow complex instructions Work with internal teams and subject matter experts, including the designers, product managers, developers, DevOps, IT, QA, support, and customer success, to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products and the required documentation on a daily basis. Produce high-quality, detailed, and understandable documentation, best practices guides, API specs, video tutorials and release notes Automate documentation processes related to the release cycle of the different products Manage new technical writing initiatives and bring best practices to the company What you’ll bring: 6+ years of proven experience in technical writing of software products for high-tech companies (enterprise-level software documentation). 2+ years leading a team of at least 2 technical writers. 2+ years of API technical documentation design/production, you understand APIs and how they work and you are comfortable with developers' tools. Proven experience in microcopy/Product UX Writing, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centric product content. Native English Speaker - a Must Experience working in Scrum/Agile development environments. Experience with a bug tracking system such as Jira and a wiki system such as Atlassian Confluence. Strong collaboration skills to partner with product and engineering stakeholders to understand product features, translating complex concepts into simple terms that cater to the non-technical target audience. Proven ability to write across a spectrum of content types—from deeply technical docs and scenarios to blogs and presentations. Ability to meet tight deadlines with multiple deliverables and to juggle several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment Ability to adapt and make progress while dealing with ambiguity.
